Thing #36: Pocket Dictionary
I recently found a medium-sized dictionary amongst some old things. The pocket-sized dictionary was nice, but I found the definitions to be a little more terse ("concise") than I'd like. The mid-sized model is simply a better tool, and if I ever find myself needing a dictionary that fits in my pocket, I'll just give in and finally get a smartphone.
I dropped this in the charity book bin in the parking lot at the grocery store. I realized as I was driving away that I have no idea what actual charity the book goes to. I think I've donated to that bin before, and I think the charity seemed okay, so it's probably fine. I'm not worried that it's a bad organization or something (otherwise I doubt the supermarket would allow its bin there) but I'm slightly embarrassed to be donating to something that I didn't even bother to learn the name of.
Essentially, it's the exact same process (to me) as throwing something away, except I get to stamp myself with a feel good sticker. Hooray for me, I did some charity!
