As far as I can remember, I wore this cape for a stunt I pulled in high school. Not like a prank or something, an actual stunt: there was a talent show and I signed up to do a "death-defying stunt". Obviously it worked because I'm still alive.
As far as I can remember, I borrowed this cape from Ben. I figured I should return it, all these years later, so I stuffed it in a manila envelope and mailed it to Houston, Texas.
As far as he can remember, though, it wasn't his cape. He thinks maybe it actually belonged to Ryan.
I might have screwed up here, but I got rid of something and Ben got a free cape, so I don't see any real problems with this outcome.
Putting my detective hat on: there's a pretty decent chance that Ben borrowed this cape from Ryan on my behalf, which explains the discrepancy in our stories.
